Follow these easy steps to get your AEG FAV50879 Dishwasher up and running in no time.

1. Open the Dishwasher

Open the door and remove the lower basket.

2. Prepare the Salt Dispenser

Screw open the lid on the salt dispenser by turning it anti-clockwise.

3. Fill the Salt Dispenser with Water

Only when using the dishwasher for the first time: Fill the salt dispenser with water.

4. Add Special Salt

Place the funnel (supplied) over the dispenser opening. Fill the dispenser with special salt; the capacity of the dispenser is approx. 1.0-1.5 kg, depending on the size of the grains.

5. Set the Water Softener Manually

Open the dishwasher door, remove the lower basket, and turn the water hardness dial on the left wall of the dishwasher interior to O or 1.

6. Set the Water Softener Electronically

Press the ON/OFF button. If a programme button LED is lit, deselect it by pressing function buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously for approx. 2 seconds.

7. Add Special Salt for Water Softener

To decalcify the water softener, fill it up with special salt suitable for domestic dishwashers.

8. Check Control Indicators

The control indicators have specific meanings: Refill with special salt, refill with rinse aid, or 3 in 1 function activated.

9. Adjust the Water Hardness Setting

The water softener must be set according to the table of water hardness in your area. Information can be obtained from your local water company.

10. Saving the Hardness Setting

When the hardness setting is correct, press the ON/OFF button. The hardness setting is now saved.
