Follow these easy steps to get your Hotpoint FFA74 Refrigerator up and running in no time.
Select a spot away from heat sources like cookers and direct sunlight. Ensure there is at least a 100mm (4 inches) gap above the fridge freezer for proper air circulation to extend its lifespan.
Adjust the front feet until the fridge freezer is stable and in firm contact with the floor. This prevents rocking or vibration and keeps the door aligned.
Carefully move the fridge freezer into place, using the sides of the cabinet to avoid damaging the refrigerant circuit pipework at the back.
After positioning, let the fridge freezer stand upright in its final location for at least 15 minutes before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.
Firmly plug the appliance into the electrical outlet and switch on the power supply. Make sure the appliance is earthed to avoid electrical hazards.
Adjust the left-hand control wheel for the fridge compartment to maintain an internal temperature of 5˚C or colder. Use a coin to turn the wheel to avoid damage. Adjust the right-hand wheel for the freezer to -18˚C or colder.
After switching on, wait 24 hours to allow the fridge compartment to reach the correct temperature. The temperature indicator should show 'OK'. If not, adjust the control wheels.
Ensure ventilation openings are unobstructed and avoid storing flammable or dangerous substances inside the fridge freezer.
If you are freezing fresh food, press the fast freeze switch 24 hours in advance to prepare the freezer for optimal freezing.
Periodically check and adjust the temperature settings as needed, especially after adding large quantities of food or if the door is frequently opened.
