Follow these easy steps to get your Hotpoint RLA34 Refrigerator up and running in no time.

1. Choose Location

Select a location for your fridge that is away from heat sources like cookers or direct sunlight and ensure there is adequate ventilation with at least a 30mm (1¼ inch) gap above.

2. Ventilation

If there is less than 30mm clearance above the fridge, a vent must be fitted to provide adequate ventilation. This is essential for efficient operation.

3. Position the Fridge

Move the fridge into position using the sides of the cabinet to avoid damage. Ensure that the mains cable is not trapped underneath or behind the fridge.

4. Level the Fridge

Level the fridge by adjusting the front feet. This will stop rocking or vibration and keep the door aligned, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.

5. Let the Fridge Settle

Before plugging in and switching on, leave the fridge standing in its final location for at least 15 minutes to allow it to settle.

6. Electrical Supply

Plug in and switch on the electrical supply. Ensure the appliance is earthed and the electrical supply conforms to the required standards.

7. Allow the Fridge to Cool

Allow the fridge to cool before placing food inside. All food should be covered to maintain hygiene and efficiency.

8. Temperature Control

Adjust the control wheel on the front of the worktop to set the internal fridge temperature. The normal setting is marked by a 3 and N on the dial.

9. Temperature Indicator

After plugging in, wait 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize. The indicator should show 'OK' if the fridge is operating at the correct temperature.
