Follow these easy steps to get your Hotpoint RLA61 Refrigerator up and running in no time.
Select a site for your fridge that is away from heat sources such as cookers and radiators. Ensure there's a minimum of 100mm (4 inches) between the top of the fridge and any overhead obstructions like cupboards or ceilings.
Ensure there is a 30mm (1 1/4 inch) gap above the fridge for proper ventilation. This helps in prolonging the life of the appliance and reduces operating sounds caused by vibration.
Take care to avoid damaging the refrigerant circuit pipe work on the rear of the fridge, which is crucial for the cooling system.
Before plugging in and switching on, leave the fridge in its final location for at least 15 minutes. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
After allowing the fridge to settle, plug it into the mains and switch it on. Ensure the plug is easily accessible after installation.
Allow the fridge to cool down before placing food inside. This ensures optimal cooling performance and food safety.
Set the control wheel to the normal set point (marked by a 3 and N on the dial). Adjust the temperature by turning the wheel: clockwise for colder, anti-clockwise for warmer settings.
Adjust the front feet to level the fridge. This prevents rocking or vibration and ensures the door stays aligned.
Ensure that the mains cable is not trapped or damaged during installation. Do not stack appliances on top of the fridge and avoid storing flammable substances inside the fridge.
