Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your GE Refrigerator.
Proper Installation Location
Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will go below 60°F (16°C). This can prevent the refrigerator from running often enough to maintain proper temperatures. Ensure it is installed on a floor strong enough to support it fully loaded.
Allow Adequate Clearances
For ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections, allow clearances of 3/4 inch (19 mm) on the sides, 1 inch (25 mm) at the top, and 1 inch (25 mm) at the back.
Leveling the Refrigerator
Adjust the leveling legs near each front corner of the refrigerator to ensure it is stable and level.
Interior Cleaning and Maintenance
Keep an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator to neutralize odors, replacing it every three months. Regularly clean the interior of the refrigerator.
Care for Moving the Refrigerator
Secure all loose items such as grilles, shelves, and drawers by taping them securely in place. Ensure the refrigerator stays in an upright position during transportation.
