Troubleshooting

The Hoover 0565-5287 Vacuum Cleaner has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your Hoover might be giving you.

Thermal Cut Out

The cleaner switches off automatically to prevent overheating. Switch off the cleaner, unplug it, and correct the fault such as emptying the dust container or clearing blockages. Allow about 30 minutes for the thermal cut out to reset before using the cleaner again.

Low Suction

The cleaner is not picking up efficiently due to a full dust container or blocked filters. Empty the dust container and clean the filters as instructed in the manual. Ensure the nozzle height is set correctly and the brushes are rotating properly.

Blocked Hose

The hose may be blocked, affecting the cleaner's performance. Check and clear the hose of any blockages. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions on clearing blockages.

Safety Precautions

The Hoover 0565-5287 Vacuum Cleaner is double insulated and must not be earthed. The plug is fitted with a 13 amp fuse. Ensure the appliance is used only for its intended purpose as described in the instructions, and only use attachments recommended or supplied by Hoover.

Carpet Care Control Selector

For floor cleaning under low furniture, the cleaner can be lowered to the floor by pressing the pedal. When cleaning hard floors like vinyl or linoleum, switch the 'Carpet Care Control Selector' to the 'Hard floor' position. The cleaner should be kept in an upright position while using cleaning tools.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If the cleaner is not picking up efficiently, check if the dust container is full, filters need cleaning, or if there are blockages. For blockages, inspect the cleaning tool, extension tube, and hose. If the cleaner overheats, it will reset itself in about 30 minutes.
