Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.
Regular Cleaning
Ensure that the refrigerator is cleaned regularly, both inside and out. Use mild soap and warm water to clean the shelves, drawers, and walls of the refrigerator. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the surfaces.
Check Door Seals
Inspect the door seals to ensure they are clean and make a tight seal. Dirty or damaged seals can cause the refrigerator to work harder, increasing energy consumption and reducing the appliance's lifespan.
Control Temperature Settings
Maintain the refrigerator's temperature at 37-40°F (3-4°C) and the freezer at 0°F (-18°C) for optimal performance. Regularly check and adjust the temperature settings as necessary.
Avoid Overloading
Do not overload the refrigerator as it can obstruct air circulation, causing uneven cooling and increased energy usage. Ensure there is enough space for air to circulate around the food.
Defrost the Freezer
If the model is not frost-free, regularly defrost the freezer to prevent ice buildup. Ice accumulation can reduce storage space and decrease cooling efficiency.
