Product Safety

The Hotpoint FFA45W and FFA47X refrigerators are built to international safety standards (EN60) and have been awarded the European approval mark (IMQ) for compliance with UK electrical safety requirements. They also meet EC standards for the prevention and elimination of radio interference.

Getting to Know Your Appliance

The refrigerator includes various compartments such as removable lidded shelves with egg trays and butter dishes, beverage can shelves, door shelves for bottles, and a 'Fresh box' compartment for meat and fish. It also features a display for easy operation.

Temperature Settings

The standard temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer are +5°C and -18°C, respectively. The refrigerator can be set from +2°C to +8°C, and the freezer from -18°C to -26°C. The ECO function narrows these ranges to +4°C to +6°C for the fridge and -18°C to -20°C for the freezer.

Caring for Your Appliance

Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is switched off and unplugged. Use warm water and baking soda for cleaning the interior. Maintain air circulation by not obstructing ventilation holes with food or containers.

Guarantee

The appliance comes with a 12-month parts and labor guarantee and free replacement parts for five years if installed by a Hotpoint engineer. The guarantee is valid in the UK and Ireland, provided the appliance is correctly used according to the manual.

Installation

Ensure the appliance is not installed outdoors, even in a covered area, as it is dangerous to expose it to rain or storms. The floor should be perfectly level; adjust the front feet if necessary. The electrical connection must match the voltage on the data plate and be earthed according to current regulations.

Using the Display

The display allows you to set temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer compartments. It also supports functions like SUPER COOL and SUPER FREEZE to accelerate cooling. The ECO function optimizes energy use, while the HOLIDAY function maintains a minimal operation level during prolonged absence.

Freezer Compartment

The ICE PARTY function signals when it's time to remove cooled bottles, preventing breakage. Use the ergonomic bucket for storing bottles, which helps in cooling and serving.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance makes too much noise, check if it is level and not vibrating against other objects. Persistent issues should be referred to Hotpoint Service, providing the model number and serial number.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.

Regular Cleaning

Clean the internal and external surfaces of your refrigerator with a sponge soaked in a warm water and sodium bicarbonate solution. This helps maintain hygiene and prevents the formation of difficult-to-remove odors. Ensure thorough drying before replacing cleaned parts.

Holiday Function

When going on holiday, enable the Holiday function to keep the refrigerator compartment at 12°C and the freezer at its minimum setting. This reduces energy consumption while preventing mold and bad odors.

Leveling

Ensure the refrigerator is perfectly level by adjusting the feet at the front of the appliance. An uneven surface can cause noise and inefficient operation.

Door Seals

Check that the refrigerator and freezer doors close properly and that the seals are intact. Faulty seals can lead to inefficient cooling and increased energy consumption.

Avoid Overfilling

Do not overfill the refrigerator or freezer compartments. Proper air circulation is necessary for efficient cooling, and overfilling forces the compressor to work continuously.
