Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.
Proper Installation
Ensure the refrigerator is installed away from sources of heat and direct sunlight, in a well-ventilated area. Avoid obstructing the grates that allow for proper ventilation.
Correct Temperature Settings
Set the temperature control to one of the middle settings to ensure optimal performance and energy saving.
Cooling Food Before Storage
Always allow hot food to cool before placing it in the refrigerator to prevent temperature increases and overworking the compressor.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from electricity. Use a solution of water and baking soda for cleaning the interior and ensure it is thoroughly dry before closing the doors to prevent mold and odors.
Avoid Overfilling
Do not overfill the refrigerator as it hampers air circulation and overworks the compressor. Ensure the door seal is clean and undamaged to maintain efficiency.
