Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.
Positioning and Connection
Ensure the refrigerator is not exposed to direct sunlight or placed near heat sources. It must be installed on a level surface to prevent vibration and noise.
Cleaning the Appliance
Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before cleaning. Clean the external and internal parts using a sponge soaked in lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda or neutral soap. Regularly check and clean the door seals to prevent cold air from escaping.
Avoiding Overloading
Do not fill the refrigerator with too much food to allow cold air to circulate freely. This helps the food to be preserved properly and prevents the compressor from running continuously.
Defrosting
The refrigerator compartment has an automatic defrosting function. Ensure the water discharge hole is cleaned regularly to allow water to flow out easily. Do not use any devices other than the scraper provided for defrosting.
Temperature Adjustment
Set the temperature adjustment knob to the correct position to avoid continuous operation of the appliance. High settings with large quantities of food can lead to excessive frost formation and energy consumption.
