Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.
Installation and Positioning
Place the Hotpoint HME35 Refrigerator in a well-ventilated room free from humidity. Ensure it's not exposed to direct sunlight and is placed away from heat sources. Do not block the rear fan grills, as good ventilation is essential for optimal compressor and condenser function.
Door Management
Avoid keeping the refrigerator door open for extended periods or opening it too frequently, as this can lead to increased energy consumption and affect cooling efficiency. Ensure the doors close properly and seals are intact to prevent cold air from escaping.
Temperature Settings
Use the REFRIGERATOR OPERATION and FREEZER OPERATION knobs to adjust the temperatures appropriately for each compartment. Consider using the SUPER COOL and SUPER FREEZE functions to quickly achieve desired temperatures when initially loading the refrigerator or freezer.
Food Storage and Loading
Do not overload the appliance as cold air circulation is necessary for food preservation. Ensure that food items do not contact the back wall of the refrigerator. Avoid placing hot foods directly into the refrigerator to prevent an unnecessary increase in internal temperature and energy consumption.
Defrosting Procedures
Regularly defrost the freezer if ice builds up. If the frost layer exceeds 5 mm, manual defrosting is required. Use the provided scraper for this purpose. The refrigerator has an automatic defrosting function; regularly clean the discharge hole to ensure proper water flow.
