Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.
Proper Installation
Ensure the refrigerator is installed on a level and rigid floor. If the floor is not perfectly horizontal, adjust the refrigerator by tightening or loosening the front feet. The appliance should be installed in a fresh and well-ventilated room, protected from direct sunlight, and away from heat sources.
Temperature Setting
Use the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob to adjust the temperature. Large quantities of food and high ambient temperatures may require setting adjustments to prevent excessive frost and energy consumption.
Avoiding Overloading
Do not fill the appliance with too much food, as proper air circulation is necessary for effective food preservation. Overloading can cause the compressor to work continuously.
Regular Defrosting
If ice forms, defrost the appliance by cleaning the discharge hole regularly, allowing water to flow out easily. Do not use sharp objects to defrost as they may damage the refrigeration circuit.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the external and internal parts, including rubber seals, with a sponge soaked in lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda or neutral soap. Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply during cleaning.
