Troubleshooting

The Samsung RF4267HA Oven has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your Samsung might be giving you.

SE Error

There is a communications failure between the Touch Panel Controller on the ASSY PCB Main and the ASSY Touchpad. To resolve this issue, replace the ASSY CONTROL BOX, as replacing only the ASSY CONTROL PANEL or the ASSY PCB MAIN will not correct the problem.

Control Panel Lock

The Control Panel is locked and does not allow any entry via the Touchpad, although the Control Dial ASSY can change selections. Ensure the Control Panel is not locked intentionally. If unintended, replacing the ASSY CONTROL BOX is necessary to resolve the issue.

Microwave Functions Turn On Spontaneously

Certain functions like the OTR lights or the exhaust fan activate without user input. This issue is related to the SE error. The only solution is to replace the ASSY CONTROL BOX for correct functionality.

Flow Sensor Update

The Samsung refrigerator models RF4267HA, RFG296HD, RFG297HD, RFG298HD, RFG29PHD, and RFG29THD originally incorporated a flow sensor in their design. However, all replacement parts and new production will no longer include the flow sensor. The part numbers for the 'Assembly Case Filter Water Tank' remain unchanged.

Control Box Assembly Failures

The ME179KFETSR/AA microwave has seen several Control Box assembly failures. Symptoms include spontaneous activation of microwave functions, SE errors, and control panel lockouts, which may require replacement of the ASSY CONTROL BOX.

Microwave Technology Change

The Samsung ME179KFETSR/AA microwave oven features a new technology shift from the traditional MEMBRANE technology to a GLASS TOUCHPAD. This change affects the failure modes, with issues such as the 'SE' error now requiring the replacement of the ASSY CONTROL BOX.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Samsung Oven.

Regular Cleaning

Ensure regular cleaning of all components of the oven, including the interior, heating elements, and glass touchpad. This helps prevent buildup of grease and food particles which could lead to malfunctions or fire hazards.

Check Water Supply

If your appliance is connected to a water supply, ensure that it is not a cold water supply. Cold water can prevent detergent from dissolving properly, affecting cleaning efficiency.

Control Box Maintenance

For the ME179KFETSR/AA model, if you experience control box failures, indicated by spontaneous activation of microwave functions, replace the ASSY CONTROL BOX, PN DE94-02944A. Do not attempt to replace the control panel or PCB main as it won’t resolve the issue.

Flow Sensor Awareness

Be aware that the RF4267HA, RFG296HD, RFG297HD, RFG298HD, RFG29PHD, and RFG29THD models no longer include a flow sensor in new production or replacement parts. This change should be considered during maintenance or part replacement.

Address SE Errors

If an 'SE' error appears, indicating a communication failure between the touch panel controller and touchpad, it may be necessary to replace the ASSY Control Box. Ensure the control dial allows for selection changes, but investigate touchpad issues if selections cannot be entered.
