Troubleshooting

The Samsung RT32 Refrigerator has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your Samsung might be giving you.

Freezer Compartment Alarm

The alarm function activates when the fridge door is open. It does not activate for the freezer door. Ensure the fridge door is closed properly. If the alarm persists, check the freezer door as well, though it does not trigger the alarm.

Power Cool Indicator

The Power Cool function speeds up the cooling process and the indicator light will activate. Press the Power Cool button to activate the function; it will automatically turn off after a few hours.

Ice Maker Test Button

If ice does not dispense, there may be an issue with the ice maker. Remove the ice bucket and press the test button located on the right side of the ice maker. This will initiate a test cycle.

Space Requirements

Ensure adequate space around the refrigerator for proper ventilation. The RT38 and RT35 models require 1275mm x 1001mm, while RT32 and RT29 need 1221mm x 890mm. The RT25 and RT22 models require 1141mm x 828mm. Leave at least 50mm clearance on all sides.

Energy Efficiency

Position the refrigerator to minimize exposure to heat sources and avoid opening the door frequently to reduce energy consumption.

Safety Precautions

Avoid using electrical devices inside the refrigerator unless specified by the manufacturer. Do not use a hair dryer to dry the refrigerator or place lighted candles inside.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance is not operating correctly or the temperature is too high, check door seals and adjust temperature settings as needed. Contact Samsung service for persistent issues.

Ambient Temperature Limits

The refrigerator is designed to operate within specified ambient temperature ranges, marked on the rating plate, to ensure optimal performance in different climate conditions.

Installation and Setup

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. Attach spacers on the back for better performance and ensure the refrigerator is level. Allow clearance for ventilation and energy efficiency.

Temperature Control

Adjust the freezer and fridge temperature controllers to maintain ideal storage conditions. Recommended settings vary by ambient temperature and usage needs.

Maintenance

For LED lamp replacement, contact a service engineer. Regularly clean and defrost the refrigerator to maintain efficiency and hygiene.

Environmental Considerations

The refrigerator uses R-600a or R-134a refrigerant. Ensure proper disposal of the appliance and its components at the end of its life to minimize environmental impact.

Ice Maker Operation

Toggle the Ice On/Off function to save water and energy when ice is not needed. Follow guidelines for water tank filling and ice bucket management.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Samsung Refrigerator.

Ensure Proper Installation

Allow sufficient space to the right, left, back, and top of the refrigerator for air circulation. This helps reduce power consumption and keeps energy bills lower. Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will go below 10°C.

Manage Temperature Settings

Set the temperature controller of the freezer and the refrigerator on 'Normal' for stable performance. Adjust the settings depending on ambient conditions to ensure food remains fresh and energy is conserved.

Regular Cleaning

Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Clean the interior and exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent to prevent odors and maintain efficiency.

Avoid Overloading

Do not block air vents with food items. Space food out as much as possible to improve ventilation and prevent frost buildup on the appliance walls.

Use Recommended Fluids

Fill the water tank, ice tray, and water cubes only with potable water. Avoid using tea, juice, or sports drinks to prevent damage to the refrigerator.
