Power Issue

Refrigerator Door Open

The refrigerator door has remained open for more than two minutes. Close the refrigerator door to stop the interior light from flashing. This is a warning to prevent energy wastage and maintain the refrigerator's temperature.

Motor Protection Control

The appliance comes with a motor protection control. This is a normal function to protect the motor. The compressor will start approximately 8 minutes after being switched on, or after a power cut.

Positioning and Connection

The Hotpoint FFP187B Refrigerator must be installed in a well-ventilated room, protected from direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Temperature Control

The temperature inside the refrigerator compartment adjusts automatically according to the thermostat knob position. It's recommended to start at a mid-position for optimal cooling. The freezer compartment maintains a temperature below -18°C.

Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance includes cleaning the discharge hole for water drainage and ensuring door seals are clean to prevent air leakage. Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before cleaning.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Hotpoint Refrigerator.

Keep Food Covered

The appliance is manufactured with hygienic materials which are odour free. To maintain an odour-free refrigerator and prevent stains, always cover or seal food properly.

Extended Periods of Non-Use

If you plan to switch the appliance off for an extended period, clean the inside and leave the doors open to prevent odours and mould.

Automatic Defrosting

The refrigerator defrosts automatically. Defrost water is ducted out of the back of the appliance through an outlet hole to an external container where it evaporates.

Avoid Hot Food

Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator as it will increase the internal temperature and force the compressor to work harder, consuming more energy.

Check Door Seals

Regularly check the door seals and clean them to ensure they are free of debris and to prevent cold air from escaping.
