Quick setup

Follow these easy steps to get your Hotpoint RSR50V Refrigerator up and running in no time.

1

Choosing a Location

Place the Larder Fridge in a dry and regularly ventilated room. Ensure the power socket is readily accessible and adjacent to the fridge. Avoid placing the fridge near heat-emitting devices or in direct sunlight to prevent it from working harder and incurring higher running costs.

2

Placing the Larder Fridge

Place the Larder Fridge on a solid base. Use the adjustable feet at the front to level the fridge. Attach the two spacers provided on the upper edge of the condenser to prevent the fridge from being too close to the wall. Ensure at least 200cm² of air circulation space behind the fridge and units above should be at least 5cm away.

3

Final Check

Before using your appliance, ensure it is level, thoroughly dry inside, and that there is adequate air circulation. The appliance should be thoroughly cleaned, especially the interior, before first use.

Refrigerator interior light does not work

The interior light of the refrigerator is not functioning properly. Switch off the appliance at the socket and pull out the main plug. Check if the bulb is screwed in correctly. If necessary, replace the bulb.

Ice formation on interior rear wall

Ice is forming on the rear wall inside the refrigerator. Refer to the 'Manual defrosting of the Refrigerator' section. Regularly check and clear any ice build-up to ensure proper functioning.

Appliance won't work

The appliance is not operating. Ensure the plug is firmly positioned in the wall socket and the power supply is switched on. Test the power supply with another appliance and check the fuse. Confirm there has not been a power failure.

Electrical Safety

This appliance must be earthed. It comes with a fitted plug and a 13A fuse. If the fuse needs replacing, only use 13A ASTA approved fuses. Ensure the fuse cover is replaced if lost.

Temperature Control

The thermostat knob inside the refrigerator controls the temperature. Turning it clockwise from STOP (0) to higher numbers will lower the temperature. A medium setting is recommended under normal conditions.

Storing Fresh Food

Foods should be adequately packed to prevent drying and odor transfer. The refrigerator is designed for storing fresh foods for a few days.

Defrosting

Manual defrosting involves removing food, turning off the appliance, and letting ice melt. Wipe away excess water and clean the interior before restarting.

Light Bulb Management

If the refrigerator light does not work, turn off the appliance, check the bulb, and ensure it is correctly screwed in.

Installation Instructions

The appliance should only be installed by a qualified electrician. Keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions to ensure proper air circulation.

Freezing Procedure

For models without an intensive cooling switch, turn the thermostat to 4-6, load fresh food after 24 hours, and adjust as necessary. For models with the switch, activate it 24 hours before loading, switch off after loading, and adjust the thermostat accordingly.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Clean the exterior with warm water and detergent, and varnished surfaces with an alcohol-based cleaner. Avoid using detergents on door seals. Ensure the condenser and defrost water receptacle are cleaned regularly.

Do not allow children to play with the appliance or tamper with controls. Do not store flammable substances in the appliance, as they pose an explosion hazard.
