Power switch does not function

The power cord is disconnected or the recorder is in the timer standby mode.

Firmly connect the power cord to a working outlet and press the TIMER REC button to turn off the TIMER REC lamp.

No picture on the TV screen during recording or playback

The TV’s channel is not set to that preset for the video recorder.

Ensure the TV is set to the correct channel for the video recorder.

Noisy picture

The tape is defective or the video heads may be contaminated.

Use a new video cassette tape or clean the video heads using the Sony L-25CL video head cleaning cassette.

Timer recording cannot be made

The clock time is not set correctly or there has been a power interruption.

Set the correct clock time and ensure power is uninterrupted.

Unpack the Unit

Carefully remove the Sony SL-2710 Video Recorder from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future transportation needs.

Antenna/Cable and TV Connection

Disconnect the TV antenna cables from the TV receiver and connect them to the recorder. Then, connect the recorder to the TV using the appropriate cables.
